About Mr. Rizzi
Hello students and parents! My name is Craig Rizzi. This is my eleventh year teaching at Stoney Creek High School. In my first few years at Stoney Creek, I fell in love with the environment. The culture in this school is honestly second to none. I am constantly amazed at the cooperation between staff, students, and parents in order to make this educational experience the best for everyone involved.
My educational experience began at Troy Athens High School (2004-2008). While at Athens, I was involved with the marching band, karate team, math club, NHS, and pit orchestra for the spring musicals. After high school, I went to Oakland University to study math, psychology, and physics. I graduated with a Bachelors degree in mathematics and psychology in 2013, a Masters degree in Educational Leadership in 2016, and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership in 2018, all from Oakland University.

Teaching is, and has always been, my passion. Since elementary school, I've known that I wanted to teach. I have been a karate teacher, math and physics tutor, and marching band instructor since graduating from high school.
At Stoney Creek, I am the assistant director for the marching band and the staff sponsor for the Stoney Creek High School winter guard, who competes throughout the winter in the Michigan Color Guard Circuit. I also serve as the treasurer on the board of directors for this organization.
Students, I look forward to helping you enrich your understanding of math this year. We will focus on real-world applications of concepts and inquiry-based learning so that you can discover concepts on your own. This will make your understanding of the material so much more powerful! More importantly, however, we will learn to develop life skills that will benefit you in any endeavor that you undertake in the future!
